01
Minimum and recommended PC specifications
The March of Giants system requirements below come from the current Steam listing and the official Pioneer Playtest announcement. Both sources describe Windows PC configurations rather than a separate mobile or console edition. The table keeps the minimum and recommended columns distinct, including the exact processor and graphics model names. Use those names when comparing your machine with the published specifications.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64-bit |
| Intel processor | Core i5-11600 | Core i5-12400 |
| AMD processor | Ryzen 3 3100 | Ryzen 5 5600X |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| NVIDIA graphics | GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB | GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB |
| AMD graphics | Radeon RX 6400 4 GB | Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Network | Broadband internet | Broadband internet |
| Storage | 15 GB available space | 15 GB available space |
Intel and AMD are alternatives in the processor listing, just as NVIDIA and AMD are alternatives in the graphics listing. You do not need both listed processors or both listed graphics cards to match one column. Keep the full model names and memory figures attached to their own entries when reading the table. The collected information does not provide an equivalence chart for other components, so a different model's suitability is 待确认 here.
02
Compare the processor and graphics entries together
The minimum Intel option is a Core i5-11600, while the recommended Intel option is a Core i5-12400. The AMD processor alternatives are a Ryzen 3 3100 for minimum and a Ryzen 5 5600X for recommended. For graphics, the minimum column lists a GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB or Radeon RX 6400 4 GB, and the recommended column lists a GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB or Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB. These are the published combinations; this article does not replace them with an untested upgrade recommendation or claim that a similar product name delivers the same results.
03
Check RAM and available storage
System memory is listed separately from the figures attached to graphics cards: the minimum RAM entry is 8 GB and the recommended entry is 16 GB. Available storage is 15 GB in both columns, so the published recommended configuration does not have a different storage figure. The requirement is stated as available space, which is the number to compare rather than the total advertised capacity of a drive. No separate download size or additional launcher storage allowance was established in the collected material, so those figures are 待确认 instead of estimated here.
04
Windows, DirectX and the connection requirement
Both official configuration lists name Windows 10/11 64-bit and require a 64-bit processor and operating system. DirectX is listed as Version 12 for both minimum and recommended configurations. These shared requirements apply alongside the processor, graphics and RAM entries rather than replacing them. The sources do not publish an alternative operating-system setup or a verified workaround, so this guide does not supply one.
The network requirement is broadband internet, and the additional notes say a persistent internet connection is required to play. The published configurations therefore should not be read as approval for an offline play session. A compatible computer and the required connection are separate from permission to enter the upcoming test. The collected announcements provide no measured bandwidth target or latency limit, so both numerical details are 待确认.
05
Read the 60 FPS notes with their settings
The minimum notes specify 1080p, 75% Render Scale, 60 FPS and Low Quality Settings. The recommended notes specify 1440p, 100% Render Scale, 60 FPS and High Quality Settings. The two examples change resolution, render scale and quality together, so quoting only the shared 60 FPS figure loses important context. Keep the whole settings line attached to the configuration when deciding which published target you are comparing.
These notes are official configuration targets rather than results from benchmarks performed for this guide. They do not establish a guaranteed frame rate for every machine with matching or similar components. We have not measured a different resolution, quality preset or render scale, and the collected evidence does not support an optimized settings recipe. Performance outside the stated examples, including a different hardware combination, remains 待确认 in this article.
06
Prepare Ubisoft Connect and the listed anti-cheat
The Steam listing requires the third-party Ubisoft Connect launcher, and the Pioneer instructions also require a Ubisoft Account. The official article says you can sign in or create an account when launching the game. Steam identifies Easy Anti-Cheat and describes it as kernel-level anti-cheat. Those are published access and software requirements; matching the hardware table alone does not complete the test setup.
07
Request the Pioneer Playtest before expecting a download
As of the October 5, 2026 review, March of Giants is not yet generally available on Steam. The Pioneer Playtest is scheduled to open on October 7 at 10 AM EDT and run through October 18, 2026. New players should use Request Access under March of Giants Playtest on the Steam store, then wait for a notification confirming approval. After access is granted, the official instructions direct players to download the game from their Steam Library.
A request is not a guaranteed invitation, and the developers may pause invitations while adjusting server capacity. The test is offered in North America and supported European countries, with English, French, German and Spanish localization. September 2025 Closed Alpha participants are automatically invited again and do not need to request access, but they will not receive a new Steam access notification at the opening. Returning participants still need Ubisoft Connect and a Ubisoft Account, so their previous test participation does not replace the current account requirement.
08
Steam Deck and other platforms are 待确认
待确认 — Steam Deck compatibility is marked Unknown in the Steam page reviewed for this article. That is not a supported-device approval, and the collected sources provide neither a Steam Deck benchmark nor an official settings profile. Console, mobile, macOS and Linux availability are also 待确认 because these materials do not confirm releases or compatible configurations for them. The currently announced route is PC on Steam, and a Windows requirements table should not be converted into an unsupported-platform installation guide.
09
Recheck the version before making a hardware decision
Steam explicitly says PC specifications will evolve over time, so this page records the collected requirements rather than promising that they will remain unchanged. The October Pioneer Playtest is a limited test, while Ubisoft has announced Summer 2027 as the Early Access window. That window is not an exact launch day, and it does not establish the specifications of every future build. When a later announcement changes the configuration, compare its dated minimum, recommended and performance notes together before treating it as the same requirement set.
Common questions
Before you go
How much RAM and storage does March of Giants need?
The published minimum is 8 GB RAM and the recommended configuration uses 16 GB. Both lists require 15 GB of available storage, DirectX 12, Windows 10/11 64-bit and a persistent internet connection.
Are the listed frame rates guaranteed on my PC?
No. The published notes describe official configuration targets with specific resolution, render scale and quality settings. This guide contains no independent benchmarks, and Steam says PC specifications will evolve over time.
Is Steam Deck support confirmed?
待确认 — Steam currently lists Steam Deck compatibility as Unknown. The collected sources do not establish a supported configuration or measured performance for that device.
